Now welcome to the reason I don’t regret selling my B5 Audi. Because of that car, I ended up in this. I actually went to the dealership to look at a Jetta GLI, a natural progression from my B5. But my wonderful wife @kirstie.bourne saw this, and pushed me to test drive it. It was over budget, but realistically more in line with what I needed vs what I wanted. I reluctantly agreed to test drive it (only reluctant due to it being $7k more than the Jetta). But I fell in love. It was slower, yes. It was automatic vs a manual like I wanted, but there was just something about the way it drove. It just felt so natural. But it didn’t matter, my budget was set based on what I could afford, not just what I “wanted” to spend. But then the sales manager at @franksubaru used cars did something unexpected. We chatted, he listened to what I did for a living (I drive 40k+ miles per year), and decided that he felt I’d be better suited to the Subaru due to much better reliability. I know this sounds like “yeah, of course he wanted you to spend more.” Nope. HE MATCHED THE PRICE OF THE JETTA. Took $7k off the price of this CPO Subaru. To this day, this is unheard of. So I drove it home that night, and she was in the dirt the next day. I brought her home four years ago today. So happy anniversary to my Subaru.
