My big boy enjoying his slush puppy at the funfair last weekend. We bought 30 tokens and please believe he used like 20 of those on his own. He was in his element choosing the rides he wanted to go on all by himself. I’m awe of his continuous growth, he never seizes to amaze me as his confidence increases. You might think what’s the big deal but naturally Naeem is a very shy and reserved character, it takes him time to warm up to people and situations and would rather stick with those he’s familiar with than to explore and interact. Lately Jade has really been calling out to me! I’m writing this post as ‘mum’ which is how I spend 99% of my life! I’m currently feeling SO tired of being just mum. I really really miss Jade, I’m really out of touch with Jade and I am just CRAVING some me time. I know I have a night here and there when the kids go for a sleepover at a family members house but I’m working so it doesn’t actually feel like ‘a break’. This topic is so touchy as I know some just couldn’t even imagine wanting a break from their kids so I know what I’m saying may look awful to them but we are individuals living different lifestyles. And mine tells me I need breaks! So I been thinking that I need to start planning some little breaks for myself ... Annual leave on a Saturday to go shopping with my friends followed by a night out is top on the list I’ve even been thinking to book a 2 night city break to somewhere warm and just go on my own leave the kids with dad? That’s WAY out my comfort zone but it has never felt more appealing than now! Does anyone ever feel the same? Any suggestions on how I can nurture Jade a little P.S I loved this jumpsuit... PARENTS FEAR ⁣ ⁣ This is a subject that I find really interesting and one that we all deal with very differently (the same as most things in life) dealing with our own fears infront of our children⁣ ⁣ I remember the moment I realised I had pull up my socks and face my fears, we were heading for the airport to fly to Marrakesh, crippled in fear of flying I said outloud "I wish we didn't have to fly, I hate flying it terrifies me". "Me too" replied Oscar (who had never been on a plane) and up to that point was so excited to fly!✈⁣ ⁣ My inital thought was to say "Don't be silly Oscar you have never been on a plane" - instead I asked "Oscar why don't you like flying?" "It terrifies me" he said bursting into tears.. how did my happy excited little boy go from just that to a crumbling mess‍♀️⁣ ⁣ It was that moment I realised it was me, I had portrayed my fear onto him without knowing, luckily Oscar was completely fine on the plane (I even managed to pretend I was fine too!) But it made me realise how easy it is to influence your child. Lesson learnt!.⁣ ⁣ Do you guys have any fears you have to hide from your child? This crew ❤ Today has been a frustrating one as my sleep pattern is completely messed up. I awoke with hip pain at 1am and couldn't sleep until 7am, but then unexpectedly slept until 1pm (with a few feeds inbetween as lil miss is still teething of course!). As a result I've gotten very little done today and feel a bit loopy. When I was growing up I really wanted a brother! My girls are lucky enough to have 2!! I scream and shout so much that a lot of my day I forget just how lucky I am! Today we had a little spontaneous picnic after school and they were all so happy!
