|13·07·18| I am super introverted and it took me years to figure out I am not an odd ball I am normal, contrary to what others may say, and just prefer peace and quiet. I prefer to interact with people one on one rather then in large gatherings. It totally tires me out and I get mentally exhausted. When my folks visit my brothers or go abroad for a month or two people are so concerned and worried about me being lonely. Not at all, and the opposite is true I enjoy my time alone. This is a reason why Insha Allah when I get married I want a super small wedding with only close family. I will say the one good thing about being an introvert is that I love hard and unconditionally and give my all to friends and family. This can often mean I end up getting my heart broke often. They say travel and tell no one... but how will we know where to seek out our next adventure? Once upon a time ago, Rami and I had gone to #Vancouver for our first anniversary. It was January. In #Canada. We were young and broke. We still talk about the memories.. . . We returned several years later for a babymoon, but with three kids in tow, while 8 months pregnant with Amani. I got sick. Zaynab got sick. The kids weren’t interested in much of the sites. . . They say the third time’s a charm, right? Two weeks ago, Rami and I returned to Vancouver. Alone. Our first vacation together since our first anniversary 13 years ago. We didn’t have a honeymoon and I always longed for that special couple vacation. This trip was just what the doctor ordered. ✨. . . We tried several new things for the first time together including biking along the Sea Wall and white water rafting (twice!). He saw sides of me he never knew before. Blasting Marc Anthony will always bring out my true self. We saw gorgeous locations and decided we’re going to retire in the Pacific Northwest. . . I was so happy. SO happy. MashaAllah, Alhamdulillah. It’s the most fun I’ve had in a LONG time. He is my Mr. Spontaneous. Without him, I wouldn’t have done half of the amazing things I’ve done in my life. He’s always up for an adventure and I’m glad I’m his sidekick. . .

I missed my flight home today Adam and I really miss Talib, but alhumdullilah it’s obviously for best, Allah had different plans ‍♀️ ⠀⠀ One more day in the sunshine with my mama. I’m sad she lives so far away but grateful I get to visit often (and at least she lives in a beautiful climate!) ⠀⠀ Honestly one thing I am incredibly thankful for is that I have a wonderful relationship with both my parents. Not everyone has that, and it’s a huge blessing. I hope it continues, and may Allah continue to give them health and happiness. If you don’t have a good relationship with your parents, try to find someone older in your community you can connect with and learn from.

I remember the days you would talk to me before I even came into this world, how you would get me falooda (I made mama crave it...ssshhh don’t tell her) or all the fruit she would eat those days. . . . You know I’ve always been a trouble maker. But now I get to be a trouble maker with YOU. we have our own inside jokes, and I love it when you throw me up in the air. I love how you are so patient with me, laugh at me jokes, teach me Sindhi, sing songs with me, or dance on “baby shark”. I love how when you feed me, you only focus on ME. Or when you put me to bed, you lie down on the floor next to my crib, and hold my hand till we both fall asleep. . I love how you teach me to be strong, brave, and intelligent.
