Saturday’s wedding for Jacob and @meganquickwolfe was literally a dream come true for me. If you’ve heard my story or read about me on my website, you know that I loved @martha_weddings magazine as a young girl. My mom would give me issues in my Easter basket and Christmas stocking. And not because she was one of those mom who “prepped” me for me future as a wife or taught me to love weddings. I wanted those magazines! I still have them and keep them in my office. One issue featured sugared fruit, and I just thought it was so beautiful and magical. I have been dreaming of using it ever since, and from the first time I met with Megan and her mom, I knew her wedding would be the one! Megan wanted a soft, feminine, romantic wedding full of pastels—right up my alley! So my head immediately went to the sugared fruit! We planned details that were centered around the muted colors and the soft “frosting” the sugar gives the fruit—vellum, frosted acrylic, glass candlesticks, and lush pastel florals. Megan trusted me every step of the way, even when her guest count jumped up by about 50 people right at the end. The result was a beautiful evening that was intentionally planned and executed by some amazing vendors. A special thank you to all of them, but especially @thebradfordnc and @ce_rental for working with us to make sure everything perfect for all 225 guests! I don’t often share about my personal beliefs, but this week I was reminded how blessed I am to have almost immediate access to doctors and medications and how incredibly sad it is that so many people across the world and even in our communities cannot say the same. I was able to see a doctor and get an antibiotic within two hours. My heart breaks for those who will suffer and never have access to the most basic healthcare.
