You guys already know the drill when it comes to me & Jo Nesbø books. Nesbø’s Harry Hole series came into my life at just the right moment many years ago, and it’s been my favorite series ever since. In a twist of fate that I *still* cannot get over, I’m now the US publicist handling Nesbø’s books here in America, and I am SO dang excited because today is publication day for KNIFE, the latest (and I think possibly the best) installment in Nesbø’s brilliant Harry Hole series. I’ve already read this book twice (lol do we think that’s excessive but it’s true, I have) & I’m just so totally in awe of the story he’s crafted here. •
KNIFE is a gritty, visceral crime story that puts our beloved Oslo detective through his most personal case yet. This is one genuinely heartbreaking story - it has TONS of rich character development and emotional heft, on top of a masterfully crafted mystery that will keep readers hooked throughout. It’s a BIG novel - the kind of story you want to just sink into & wrap yourself up in. ♀️ If you love gritty police procedurals, you will LOVE this book. •
I don’t normally review the books I’m working on here on CBTB, as I never want to cross any boundaries, BUT you guys know we had to make an exception for Nesbø there would be no CBTB without Nesbø’s books - they were a huge source of inspiration behind my starting this account, so today we HAVE to celebrate KNIFE. ♀️ You can catch my full review of Nesbø’s new book linked in my IG profile!!

Are you a Nesbø fan?! What’s your FAVORITE book of his?! THE SNOWMAN has been my favorite series installment of his for ages, but KNIFE honestly blew me away. For his stand-alone novels, my favorite is BLOOD ON SNOW. Can’t wait to hear your Nesbø faves!!
Drinking a coffee at my desk right now & pretending I’m in this cozy reading spot instead •
How’s everyone’s week going?! It’s been a busy but really good one over here, spent scheming on fun activities for my authors at this year’s Bouchercon, pitching my summer & fall books, and finishing my re-read of KNIFE by Jo Nesbø (which is SO dang good it’s breaking my heart to see it end. ) I’ll have a new book coming up on my TBR tomorrow, but for now I’m just savoring the final few pages in Nesbø’s incredible July release. It’s been SO great to spend the last week immersed in Nesbø’s world, & now I’m just feeling sad to say goodbye to these characters!! Beyond the intriguing mysteries, vivid atmosphere, & edge-of-your-seat thrills (which are all excellent, I might add ), what really keeps me coming back to this series is the men & women who fill its pages. Nesbø is at his best when writing about the inner lives of his characters - their demons, secrets, and motivations all feel authentic and true to life. I’m probably way too invested in these characters considering that they’re fictional... but here we are. I will genuinely miss being in their world, and am now starting yet another countdown until we meet Harry again. ♀️

In unrelated news: yesterday on the blog I was so thrilled to share a Q&A with Swedish author M.T. Edvardsson, whose crime novel A NEARLY NORMAL FAMILY went on sale yesterday from @CeladonBooks!! A direct link to the Q&A can be found in my profile A NEARLY NORMAL FAMILY is a slow-burning crime novel that blends elements of Nordic Noir, legal suspense, and domestic drama to excellent effect. You’ll also find my full review of the book linked in the Q&A, too!!

If you could befriend ONE fictional character (from a crime novel or otherwise!), who would you choose?! My answer is pretty obvious - Jo Nesbø’s series protagonist, Harry Hole ♀️
When your all-time favorite author has a new book out in a couple of weeks, and you’re the US publicist for it... there are no words. Just a total dream come true. ♀️ KNIFE by Jo Nesbø is out 7/9 from @AAKnopf!!!

Guys, I truly cannot even BEGIN to tell you how long I’ve been waiting to post this. There would be no CBTB without Jo Nesbø - my love for his books was one of the key things that inspired me to start this account & my blog to begin with!! Little personal story: I found Jo’s books through my ex-boyfriend’s wonderful mom, who is Norwegian and also an avid reader. I was visiting her home one day when she pulled a copy of THE BAT off her bookshelf and recommended that I look Jo up when I got back to the US. And luckily for me, I followed her advice. Jo’s books instantly became the missing puzzle piece in my personal library. They saw me through life in college, heartbreak, moving from Texas back to the east coast to start my first publishing job... basically ALL the big moments of my life over the past 5 - 6 years have had a Jo Nesbø book to go along with them. ❤️

SO it’s the absolute biggest honor to now be working for Jo’s US publisher, and to be the publicist for his newest release: the brilliant, heartbreaking, gripping crime novel KNIFE, on sale July 9th (just two days after my birthday - I’m considering this book a birthday gift to myself!!) as you guys know, I typically keep my work books separate from what I do here on CBTB - but let’s be real, there’s no separating CBTB from Jo Nesbø. ♀️ I’ve already read an early version of KNIFE for work, but I’m going to re-read it now simply as a fan, and I’ll be sharing my thoughts on my re-read every step of the way!! •
This caption is absurdly long already SO I’m going to put the plot details for KNIFE in the comments, and I’ll also pop some details on the book + pre-order link in my stories, for those to you who love Jo Nesbø books as much as I do!! ♀️ Tell me: do you have any questions about Nesbø’s work? I feel like I talk about him ALL the time on CBTB, so please let me know if there are any questions floating around out there that I can answer!
