Everyone knows about the cherry blossoms, but who has gone to see the fantastic saucer magnolia trees? Mom took me to Rawlins Park near the White House to see these beauties. Rawlins Park is so cool because of all the birds who hang out there (birds are my favorite). ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣Brother, Jensen, got to come too (although truth be told, he was annoyed that he didn't get to go away with just him and mom - if Jensen had his way, he would have left me at home). Swipe ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ I'd never been to Rawlins Park before but I'm excited to go back this summer because there are two reflecting pools and a giant fountain. Sadly there was no water in the pools right now, but I'm sure next time I go back I can sneak a quick dip. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ If you haven't checked out the saucer magnolia trees yet what are you waiting for?! I'm never more focused than when I'm in the water!! I'm so excited because its almost summertime, which means swimming, swimming, swimming. In anticipation of my favorite time of year, I just couldn't resist sharing some of my favorite swimming holes with all my new furfriends. I hope all my furfriends get out there and try swimming because it is the BEST thing ever!! Pawrents take note of all these amazing swmming spots your pup will love:⁣ ⁣ Photos 1. and 2. Hog Dog Productions in Millersville, MD - they have open swims that anyone can attend throughout the week and sometimes on the weekend - you can swim for fun or you can practice your dock diving skills (which I can't wait to try more of)⁣ ⁣ Photos 3. and 4. Annual Puppy Plunge event to benefit the SPCA of Anne Arundel County at Camp Letts in Edgewater, MD - it happens every year in August⁣ ⁣ Photo 5. Pooch Pool Party at Wheaton-Glenmont Pool - happens the weekend after Labor Day and in my opinion, its the BEST pool closing doggie swim in this area ⁣ ⁣ Photo 6. Hilton Washington DC - this fun event happens early in Nov. every year when the hotel closes their pool for the winter (don't worry - the pool is heated)⁣ ⁣ Photo 7. Pool Closing Doggie Swim at Old Town Pool in Alexandria, VA - usually happens in mid-Sept⁣ ⁣ Photos 8. and 9. Downs Park Dog Beach -- I've only gotten to go once but I had so much fun diving into the waves - I can't wait to go back many times this summer ⁣ ⁣ Photo 10. K9 Aquatic Center (@k9aquaticcenter) in Potomac, MD - this place is amazing! We found the sweetest spot for real-deal hot chocolate, espressos, croissants, and canelés! ☕️ Check out @cafechocolatdc on H St., NW, DC! ☕️ They also double as a premier boutique for specialty chocolates from around the world! Look! Issa swipe! ↔️ | espressofied.com . . We popped in for a surprise visit on Saturday evening and were greeted by the nicest person we had come across all day. He took the time to tell us all about the boutique's offerings, how the chocolates and coffees are prepared, and which selections are his faves (which is difficult to do since everything offered is amazing). We opted for a mocha, a dark hot chocolate, two pieces of the artisanal chocolates on display, a canelé, and a chocolate-filled butter croissant. RIDICULICIOUS. . . First of all, did we mention that we ordered a DARK hot chocolate? It was smooth, rich, and smokey, with a dusting of dark chocolate and pepper grated on the top. Yes, CRACKED PEPPER! It was a surprise to our tastebuds and complimented the sipping chocolate perfectly! The mocha was simply wonderful, as expected. We thoroughly enjoyed the flavors of the artesian chocolates (smoked vanilla with pineapple in milk chocolate, and buttery caramel in salted dark chocolate), and just devoured the other pastries as we sipped on our heavenly selections.
