The seated occipital lift
This adjustment targets the joint where the skull meets the neck (atlanto-occipital joint). It helps relieve spinal pressure and neck pain/headaches. You’ll have less tension and improved mobility not to mention this feels great. VOLUME UP

With upper crossed syndrome, there is forward head posture in which the occiput has excessively anteriorly glided relative to the atlas. So we need to perform posterior glide of the occiput (and stabilize and/or anteriorly glide the atlas).

How to rehab a cervical disc injury. Now, before I go any further, if you’ve got crippling pain or loss of use, this isn’t for you, go get evaluated by a competent doc. .
Run through this list of symptoms:
Pain behind the shoulder blade?
Severe neck pain?
Tingling into the fingers?
Time to reduce that disc bulge and bring you back to the game. .
Quite often a cervical disc bulge doesn’t need surgical intervention, it needs restoration of proper motion. Believe it or not, most of the population has had a disc issue at one time in their lives and not even known it. .
The neck, is an enigma, it sacrifices stability for mobility, and, it regulates a large portion of your posture. Which means that any issue with the neck, also effects the rest of that human you drive around in all day. .
To leave a disc issue alone is like leaving a teenager at home with keys to the car and the liquor cabinet for the weekend, just the beginning of a really bad idea. Since so much function relies on proper spinal mechanics, especial the neck, it’s important to clear that up as fast as possible. .
A combination of suboptimal range of motion, pogo movement on your head and forward head posture all turn your cervical spine into a play land for an orthopedic surgeon. The other factor is poor postural control in general, from the #occiput (base of the skull) all the way to the pelvis. .

The area being addressed is the Occiput, which is the base of the skull . The muscles in the occipital region are responsible for head movement like rocking, tilting and rotating the head to either side. This area may become very stiff and some may suffer pain, restricted range of motion, and headaches due to the tight fascia and/or muscle tension♂️.
