I just read about Decebalus' daughter Dochia and it led me to reading about the Dacian god Zalmoxis. Who was preceded by Zeuta (Zeus) & Decenius. I am researching the connection of Maori people to Zeus as the name of the Maori God is Io. In Greek "mythology", which I argue are metaphors of actual events from ancient history, Zeus fell in love with Io, the highest priestess in the Temple of his wife Hera. Io refused Zeus affection & was turned into a white heifer (cow) & banished across the Bosphorus. The term "Heretic" "to denounce God" comes from this event. Breaking the mythology down to real events, I am convinced that Zeus or Hera banished or killed Io out of anger or jealousy & her high ranking family & followers, including her uncle Oceanus, denounced Zeus & with followers crossed the Bosphorus to Turkey. Historically this was the same path taken by the ancient Ionians. Coincidence, or as the name suggests, the same (Io) migration. I argue that the sumbolic actions of Io created resulted in her beatification. The "heretic" Io revealed Zeus was no god & so the Ionians went back to worshipping nature, the universe & the sun Ra. The important link to Ionian, Egyptian Maori is, that Io was renamed Isis, the god the Egyptians worshipped. Given Egyptians & Maori share Ra, because the Maori supreme being is still Io suggest they never forgot Io as their influencer. I believe a heriditary connection exists through a passage of time & travel from the ancient Ionian descendants of Io & Oceanus to Maori. Many Romanian women are named Ioana so I am researching to try to establish how Dacians, modern day Romanians, Greeks, Turks & so many other cultures, including Maori, are linked back to this decisive Io event beteeen Zeus, Hera & the beautiful high priestess who in an act of defiance (herecy), revealed a false god & thus divided the ancient world, forming pockets of her descendents around the globe.
