By my third day of hanging out in the field I started seeing more calves erupting into frolic. This weeks images capture the spring in their step.

After a long entertaining day with the herd on the Butte as I’m headed back to Buffalo Field Campaign headquarters, I spot two teen Moose who had come out of the trees for a drink in the Madison River.

I begin my photo journey with an image of the reason I work to protect the Buffalo of Yellowstone. Buffalo Mamas and their calves are something to behold. James Holt, vice President of @buffalofieldcampaign said it perfectly last Saturday, “Every time a Buffalo calf stands for the first time we succeed. I stand in the field every year to protect the Buffalo from the Interagency Management Plan. @yellowstonenps takes part in this plan. As a national park they are supposed to be protecting our wildlife. Instead, they have been participating in the slaughter of the Buffalo without much skill or science behind it. These are our last wild migratory bison. Let them roam.
