The law of reaping and sowing. Tomorrow is the best plan for today, but it comes with a cost. In order to reap, you MUST sow, and in order to sow you must take action. I’ve spoken before about how happiness can only dwell in the present, and I firmly believe this, but in order to sow we must make sacrifices. If you want be healthy, best you stop eating what you enjoy, detracting from the happiness of that present moment to reap happiness in the future. If you seek to be fit, best to start exercising, giving some of your free time to sweat and a bit of agony, detracting from that current moment of happiness otherwise dwelling in the comfort of a lazy boy recliner watching Netflix, only to reap the happiness of feeling and being fit in the future. This is why we preach the power of loving the process, because without that mentality it will be difficult to be happy if you’re always sowing for the future. If your family brings you happiness, if partying brings you happiness, no matter what it is, surely you will forfeit some of this to reap for a better future. You work while the kids play to ensure that on the weekends you will have all that you need to spend time with them comfortably. The universe doesn’t always play along with our grandeur ideas of reaping what we sow, if the floods come and the wind blows heavily than we may be left harvesting nothing. In a more human sense, a soldier gives all that he/she has, all that he/she is, and you would like to believe that he/she will reap what they have sown, but we see all too often this isn’t the case when he/she arrives home. Expectations don’t provide the fruit of our labor, only proper execution, hard work, and diligence can overcome what we cannot control. Believe in tomorrow, but it will cost you a piece of today. If you can believe you’re worth the harvest of all that you will sow, then get after it, and #beachampiontoday. ✌+❤️

This April, San Francisco stepped up their 2014 plastic bottle ban by prohibiting the sale of plastic bottles at events held on city-owned property. This includes the purchase of plastic bottles by government agencies. However, businesses like supermarkets, convenient stores and restaurants are still allowed to sell bottled water in the bay area. Living in an earthquake zone, storing water is understandably important. But buying bottled water to use on a daily or regular basis is seriously hurting the environment. Some of the criticism received by the plastic bottle ban was because some users simply hated the idea of having to wash a reusable bottle. ‍♀️ That's crazy lazy. The only causes in which stem false thoughts all revolve around sociological standards. The comparisons we make of ourselves to the people around us create the thoughts that wreak havoc on the mind. In society, we’re constantly forced to “represent” ourselves, as opposed to just being ourselves. We are chameleons in this world, we shape shift for everything that exists outside of the doors of our own homes. We would all like to believe that the age old saying “just be yourself” is applicable to us all, but it simply isn’t true. When you go to a job interview would you say that you’re “just being yourself”? We wear clothes that will appease those who interview us, we deliberately say what the interviewer needs to hear in order to hire us, etc. If we would “just be ourselves” we would all show up to job interviews in our pajamas, sweats, or gym clothes, we wouldn’t hide our tattoos, we would speak as though we were chatting with our closest friends, but we don’t. We all deliberately choose to play parts in society in some way, shape, or form. Sure, maybe we all should take part in creating a society that reflects the best of intentions, but be aware that every false step, every false word, every false thought, pushes us further and further away from what we really are, and who we really are. The world is filled with people who now fight to be something they’re not, they desire acceptance, fame, fortune, freedom from sociological standard, and yet, when the job interview comes, they fall right in line with the rest of humanity. Breaking free from the chains of these standards requires far more from us than we’re willing to give up. The carnal desires we adhere to are killing us slowly, softly, and the temptations of this world are the consistent force that pushes us away from our true design, our positive self image, our desire to be more than we are. In the words of Tyler Durden in the movie “Fight Club”: “only after we’ve lost everything, are we free to do anything...” and this should resonate with anyone who’s ever quit that job that made them miserable, who left that abusive relationship, etc. Free yourself, and #beachampiontoday. ✌+❤️
