No catch, no guilt. The coffee shop culture here in Iceland is a really important way to keep people feeling connected, and we don’t want anyone to miss out on that social interaction just because they haven’t got enough for a coffee that day. Earlier this year I worked for an amazing charity restaurant / community @lentilabbotsford for a few months and got to leave my handprint on their corridor wall. Unfortunately I don’t have a better photo since I did this mural (”Each of You”, approx 2x5 meters) just before leaving Melbourne and kind of ran out of time. It took me ten days to paint and I literally finished on the day of my departure. I never painted in such a rush before and it was a good lesson. I made mistakes but also learnt to trust my hand more. Overall Lentils taught me so much about empathy and caring and I am so grateful for this experience. Один из таких ресторанов мы случайно нашли в Хайфе, рядом с местным рынком. Концепция ресторана Robin Food в том, что они "спасают" продукты, которые планировали выбросить продавцы на рынке, и это не испорченный товар, а тот что не продали за день, или выглядит не презентабельно (например, кривоватая морковка). И они готовят из этих продуктов, меню меняется каждый день, на выбор 5 основных блюд + набор закусок. На меню нет цен, и вы платите сколько посчитаете нужным #payasyoufeel . Главная идея - спасти качественные продукты от выбрасывания, ведь ежедневно тонны еды отправляются на свалки лишь потому, что не были проданы или не соответствуют визуальным требованиям потребителей.
