Preparing For Pendulum Work
.
I wanted to take a moment to speak about my process pre and during pendulum work. A lot of this can apply to other forms of divination too!
.
Set The Scene - Make sure you're comfortable and feeling balanced. Cleanse yourself and space if necessary. I tend to prefer working in a candlelit room, but your perfect working space is personal to you. Purple / indigo / black candles could lend themselves to your work but white will do too! Incense blends are great to help get the vibration right for divination such as mugwort and frankincense. Or even just a favourite of yours! Some use a crystal grid around their area to help focus. I also like to do a small breathing meditation first.
.
Using A Board - If you like you can use a pendulum board. There are many people who make and sell these but they're also very easy to make yourself. I suggest a circular chopping board would make a great base to paint one on. You would need to write things like yes, no, maybe and then perhaps other relevant words such as days of the week / time line specific words.
.
Intention And Connection - If you have multiple pendulums you can select which one you feel is going to be best for your questions. I tend to use whichever one I feel drawn to by holding my hand over them and choosing one intuitively. I have a good idea of the questions in my head before hand or alternatively if my intention is simply to strengthen my bond with it. However it's fine if new questions pop up during!
.
Be Realistic - As with all divination I personally (And it's often a good idea to) not be too intensely specific about certain areas especially if you're asking about potential future scenarios. For example if you've just met a love interest you're probably not going to get the answers of will we get married and live happily ever after. Also that tends to spoil the fun!
.
Thanks - Give thanks to your tools accordingly for their assistance with your divination. That helps to strengthen your connection with them!

#Lissajous Patterns formed by Pendular Harmonic Motions.
ㅤ
Slide 1/3
ㅤ
In mathematics, a Lissajous curve /ˈlɪsəʒuː/, also known as Lissajous figure or Bowditch curve /ˈbaʊdɪtʃ/, is the graph of a system of parametric equations which describe complex harmonic motion. This family of curves was investigated by Nathaniel Bowditch in 1815, and later in more detail by Jules Antoine Lissajous in 1857.
ㅤ
The appearance of the figure is highly sensitive to the ratio a/b. For a ratio of 1, the figure is an ellipse, with special cases including circles (A = B, δ = π/2 radians) and lines (δ = 0). ㅤ
Another simple Lissajous figure is the parabola (b/a = 2, δ = π/4). Other ratios produce more complicated curves, which are closed only if a/b is rational. The visual form of these curves is often suggestive of a three-dimensional #knot, and indeed many kinds of knots, including those known as Lissajous knots, project to the plane as Lissajous figures.
ㅤ
Visually, the ratio a/b determines the number of "lobes" of the figure. For example, a ratio of 3/1or 1/3 produces a figure with three major lobes (see image).
ㅤ
Similarly, a ratio of 5/4 produces a figure with five horizontal lobes and four vertical lobes. Rational ratios produce closed (connected) or "still" figures, while irrational ratios produce figures that appear to rotate. The ratio A/B determines the relative width-to-height ratio of the curve.
ㅤ
For example, a ratio of 2/1
produces a figure that is twice as wide as it is high. Finally, the value of δ determines the apparent "rotation" angle of the figure, viewed as if it were actually a three-dimensional curve.
ㅤ
For example, δ = 0 produces x
and y components that are exactly in phase, so the resulting figure appears as an apparent three-dimensional figure viewed from straight on (0°). In contrast, any non-zero δ produces a figure that appears to be rotated, either as a left–right or an up–down rotation (depending on the ratio a/b).

Just had to show this custom order rose quartz Pendulum Necklace I created. I made this design for my customers in amethyst before. The copper is so smooth on this one. I have been playing with my settings for different textural effects. A few more things to do and a patina to add and it will be ready.
When Pendulumart goes bad and I mean so bad that you have to duck for cover a shame because it was creating some fascinanting lines at the beginning. It also highlights why its a good idea to keep a visual record of pours and experiments because this happend so fast in real time I missed most of it . .

Magnetic Newton's Cradle: the famous collision demonstration reimagined with opposing magnets as the pendulum weights- shown here in two modes of operation. Initially the collision pattern looks similar to the traditional colliding spheres version but quickly goes chaotic- the magnetic field of each weight interacts with all the other magnets simultaneously making the system nonlinear. A 1990s desk toy by Fascinations- sadly no longer in production. ➡️ Follow the link in my profile for info on where get many of the amazing items featured here on @physicsfun #physics #physicstoy #physicsfun #sirissacnewton #newtonscradle #magnet #magneticfield #pendulum #chaos #nonlineardynamics #collision #conservationofmomentum #science #scienceisawesome
