Okay so I'm about to rant about "glow-ups"...get ready • Its weird seeing TV shows like "revenge body" and "10 years younger". I get the same feeling as I do when I see people post before & after weightloss posts and I realise that my body is the perfect "before" picture. Its taken me 25 years, but in 2019 I'm learning for the first time ever that a "glow-up" doesn't have to mean being skinnier, having a more defined waist or better boobs or less wrinkles etc...etc... For me, I've gained 3 dress sizes since October 2016. That's...a lot of weight. It wasnt intentional, but life happened. My new Sally has thicker thighs, wider hips and a significantly rounded jawline. It's weird to put her next to an old cosplay photo from 2016 and call it a glow-up. I'm betraying everything I thought I knew about progress and what was "acceptable". . • A lot of people will look at these photos and say I looked better "before", in 2016, when I was smaller and younger. But in the photos from @cosxpo 2019 I see someone who is far more confident. Someone who doesn't feel shy or awkward about "letting go" and being herself. I see someone who is super comfortable and excited and happy to be in costume, instead of feeling a little self-conscious. I worked really hard on improving my costume and makeup skills over the past 2 and a half years, and my confidence in my abilities and my cosplay is at an all time high.
