Polyester fabrics hugely vary in their properties, colours and finishes that they are almost impossible to recycle. . 7. Polyester uses less water and land than cotton but is hugely energy intensive and needs aggressive dyes and finishes. ... Hold up! This is not a guilt trip. I’m very pro second hand before buying new and many of these garments are fast fashion and contain polyester. . 4. Many natural fibres such as conventional cotton still reap havoc on the environment in different ways. ...
