The hills are alive with kākā - you'll want to turn up the volume for this!
James, our project director, took this quick video in his lunchbreak. Our office is up by the Wellington botanic gardens - seeing and hearing the wildlife up here every day is a perfect reminder why we're all doing this.

Spent the morning at the #huttwinterfestival with the Naenae Nature Trust and DOC. Learning more about trapping predators and building tunnels. Bringing this new knowledge back across the valley to Predator Free Normandale. A group of back yard trappers I have not long taken over the running of. #predatorfreenz #predatorfree2050 #lowerhutt #naenaenaturetrust
Looking pretty parched there Waikato. The view from Taylor's peak. The highest pasture and steepest part of fence line. The predator free movement is changing the nature of Wellington. Nature is returning to the city and this is being led by the community.

It’s a lay day for us on the far north swell chasing mission. It’s always a pleasure rolling with this legend, Ed Chignell the CEO of Predator Free NZ 2050. He just has 60 detailed predator free programs to read through today so we have set him up in the flashest northland office we could find I’m glad our country’s native wildlife and fauna is in the hands of someone so capable and passionate about protecting our native species and also someone that keeps it real. It’s a awesome learning experience for me travelling around the countryside with Ed chasing surf and I would love to see our country restored to its native glory for my kids and future generations. The possibilities are amazing. I have seen small pockets of protected areas thriving with native wildlife which just blew me away. Jump over to @pf2050limited and give them a follow. There are lots of volunteer programs all over NZ that you can get involved in if you want to get onboard and help. This type of eradication and restoration program needs help from people and communities everywhere in NZ. Getting good rat traps around your home and local area is a great start. Look up your local predator free coordinators and they’ll let you know how to help if you want to. There’s a lot of good people doing amazing work for this country’s future. #pfnz2050 #lovenewzealand #predatorfree2050 #surf #explore
