REAL TALK :: I’ve only taken both girls to the store with me 3 times since Amari was born. Mostly because it makes me feel too anxious and overwhelmed. I took them both to Target with me last week, and both were completely losing their shit. We see all these things online saying oh if you see a mom with a toddler flipping out offer her some support or words of encouragement because we’ve all been there. But in real life, people just roll their eyes and judge. A woman in the checkout line goes “ohhh I didn’t realize you had TWO screaming” Yup lady I do, thanks for pointing it out. . . A few days ago I took them both to the farm to go strawberry picking and we had the best time. A lady there with her grand daughter offered to help me several times and at the end asked if she could take our picture. Considering I have next to no pictures of me and the girls, and after what it took for me to get out of the house with them to begin with, it meant a lot. My first phase of my mission mom strong journey is healing and that starts with spending these first days in bed, nursing my little one. I’m not in any rush to get back to anything. Everything else can wait while I get to know my baby & heal my body. Truly amazed at the transformation of pregnancy. This body has been through a lot & I am so grateful for it.
