Heading to the LA Book Swap this morning, but thinking about my reading this week. You know, I’ve been trying to organize myself and be more productive so that I’m always pushing out blog posts and reviews. It’s not easy work but I love doing it. I love sharing my life and my reading with you all! But this week I feel like I’ve pushed myself too far. Marathoning a big book isn’t easy. I don’t recommend doing it unless you’re loving the book and have the time. I literally did nothing this week so I can have this book read and reviewed for work. I’m not complaining about the job. This is what I wanted but I didn’t do a good job giving myself a break this week. Opening a book and immersing yourself in a world drains the crap out of you sometimes and when that happens, you just have to be kind to yourself and let yourself rest. So today that’s what I’ll be doing. I’ll be letting myself rest, recharge, and restart reading on Monday. . But who knows I might just read because I can’t help myself. 2 pages. That’s all it took to fall back in love with Caraval. And this time it really does feel like a Finale. I’m just over half way through and the smell of magic has filled my thoughts all week. If you haven’t read the first two books, we’ll probably stop reading here and go and grab a copy of Caraval - this series is absolutely riveting. The whole Jacques / Legend / Tella /scarlet / Julien situation has my emotions going crazy and I’m pretty sure I could easily disappear into this book for days if it weren’t for work.
