Woohoo peep my new regency shift! I made it based on measurements I found online for two extant shifts owned by either the Ohio Historical Society or the Missouri Historical Society (I can’t tell which because the website I found the measurements on accidentally swapped their patterns and photos around I think). I intentionally went with a late 1810s early 1820s style because I want to eventually make the super wide-necked gowns from the 1820s and didn’t want to necessarily have to make a whole new shift. I find I have to pull the back drawstring tighter than the front in order to keep it on (according to the extant measurements, the shift is identical front and back). Stays were made using the @s_and_s_patterns @simplicity_creative_group pattern from ages and ages ago. Ignore my frizzbomb hair.
