I’m not just a hairstylist • • In fact I never was. • • We get thrown into the salon thinking it’s just hair, but instantly having to become a receptionist, a book keeper, a student, a marketer, a photographer, a videographer, a consultant, a business woman, as well as an inspired artist for 10-12 hours a day. • • I’m not complaining here, love it! But I spent the first 8 years of my career STRUGGLING. I wasn’t taught HOW to be a hairstylist, I was taught techniques. I wasn’t taught my worth, I was taught to work myself into the ground.
