Black Friday has passed, Cyber Monday is done. Today, November 27th, is #GivingTuesday. In particular, today, I highlight two organisations that you will likely be familiar with thanks to our favourite Avengers. ❤️ . You will know of the Ronald McDonald House Charities thanks to Sebastian Stan, who has spent time at both their NYC and LA locations. The @rmhc can be found globally in 64 countries. What they are best known for is providing housing and care for families who have hospitalised kids, so that they can be nearby. They gladly accept donations but if you look up a local one near you, you will find that they are hugely dependent on the work of volunteers. You can volunteer your time and talents to cook, do arts and crafts, host events, and more. . The second organisation is @christophershaven. No, it’s not named after Chris Evans, though it is his favourite charity. Christopher’s Haven is a home and support system for families and children battling pediatric cancer in the Boston area. Christopher’s haven is entirely privately funded so it is thanks to the help and donations of others that they have been able to provide this service. . If you have the opportunity, if you have some money or time to spare, consider donating to either of these two charities today (or when you can - they don’t stop needing help when it isn’t the holiday season). . This isn’t about currying favour with Sebastian or Chris, which is why I have not tagged Sebastian directly here. This is about providing much needed help and support and giving back because we can. Our little family will be at the Ronald McDonald House Charities Race for the Kids again this year! Would love for you to join us tomorrow!! Brooks was only about 7 weeks old when we did it last year. Look at those cute striped socks swallowing his entire little legs! I’ll be the MC this Sunday and hope to see you there! Our little family will just be doing the little 2k but there is a 5k option as well. We will have appearances by Ronald, Leo, and Dora the Explorer. Plus musical and dance acts as well as face painting and games. It’s a family fun day and you’re invited! So are your doggies!! A little birdie told me Friday is a big, big, BIG day! Mark your calendars - the Van Collection goes LIVE Friday (time tbd) in collaboration with @maisondene and her #vansweater (adult and mini). More importantly, a special thanks to the amazing doctors, nurses and support staff we had the pleasure of meeting during our hospital stays with Van - $2 from every skein sold will be donated to RHMC & @sickkidstoronto Can you believe he’s a 20+ lbs, 9 month old babe How was he ever 4lbs...how were we ever in the hospital? This collection is beyond special to me and I will probably shed a few tears (or many) because I can’t believe we are finally here. ❤️ (edit: this isn’t all of the yarn - the bath tub is currently full! So have no fear - there’s lots!)

Hey everyone! I have a great update for you! ❤️ Emily received her red wagon ride OUT of the ICU! She is now in a regular floor room and doing FANTASTIC! Tyler came to visit mommy at @rmhc while daddy spent time with Emily. The hardest part of all of this is always having our family in two different places. Tyler got to have dinner with me and see one of his favorite people in the world, Ms Jenna! She holds the key to the glorious toy closet at the Ronald McDonald house! Tyler picked out an art kit! (We love you @jennaembree !) People are always amazed at how quickly things change with Emily and to be honest, so are we! Emily has ALWAYS been one to either get really sick really fast or get better really fast! If you have been with us since the beginning, you know how quickly Emily can do a 180 and this time, it was in the right direction! She kicked RSV’s butt! Plan of action is HOPEFULLY home TOMORROW! Today is one of our favourite days of the entire year, McHappy Day!! Each year, $1 of each hot McCafé beverage, Big Mac or Happy Meal purchase goes towards Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), as well as other local children’s charities across Canada. When Zoe was born, we had to spend a few extra nights at the hospital and the the Ronald McDonald Family Room on the paediatric floor opened their doors for anything we might need while we were there. The men and women working there were nothing short of amazing. The 15 Ronald McDonald Houses and 16 Ronald McDonald Family Rooms in Canada care for over 25,000 families. If you have the opportunity today, take the pledge to head to your local McDonalds and support an amazing organization!
