Gonna use the Sunny 16 rule to shoot a roll of Ultramax 400 in this Rollei 35 which is full manual scale focus 35mm camera that is fully mechanical! The Sunny 16 rule is a guide that will help you make an educated guess as to what your exposure is based on the the lighting conditions. Swipe over to see the chart 1-Set your aperture based on your conditions. 2-Set shutter speed to match the film iso you’re shooting. Round down if your camera doesn’t have the specific shutter speed. So in this case, I’ll be shooting at 250th which will be fine because color negative does well with over exposure! #thedarkroomlab

We really admire the Rollei 35. It is an incredibly well designed camera and as compact as they come. But it also always bugs us just a bit that this camera doesn’t have a rangefinder to aid in focusing. Granted, there just wasn’t any room in the camera to install a rangefinder, but if this camera had some way of focusing other than simple scale focusing, we would consider it one of the all time greatest cameras.⁠⠀ The good news is that you can find accessory rangefinders to slip into the camera’s hot shoe, which is exactly what we did for this image. This old rangefinder came into the shop via a box of miscellaneous items. The moment Young David here pulled it out and started testing it, we knew exactly which camera to pair it up with. ⁠⠀ We really admire the Rollei 35
