The best time in Beijing has arrived!!! MANGO TEA is back If you ever go to Paris Baguette in Beijing and they’re out of this drink... it’s because I’ve already been and bought them all. 6 miles and two mango teas. It was a GREAT day!! Does thinking of the food you’re going to consume post run motivate you to run faster?! ♀️
Consistency is key️️️ Running changed my life when I made it a habit. If running isn't for you, find something else to be consistent in! A little bit goes a long way, the proof? I started on a cheap treadmill in my apartment and I am now getting ready for a 444 km in a month!
If I can do it, so can you!

Due to stop some times to follow the traffic lights during run, I couldn’t keep my own pace Honestly, I couldn’t enjoy this event, but it’s OK as I completed safely After run, I took this photo with my favourite God

Marini vs. The Great Wall goes down in the morning!! Ranked top 5 hardest races in the world, it honestly sounds like a complete suck fest (traversing thousands of crumbling steps). However, being able to run on something built between 220 and 206 B.C. — definitely a bucket list adventure. .
.
This is the only race I was determined to run this year while living in China. Most people run the race in May, but there’s actually a ton of races throughout the year on the Great Wall. I’m only doing the half, but from the map it looks like the half distance is the part you’d want to be running the most anyway (the cool sections ). 3,280+ feet of elevation gain over 13.1 miles. Apparently of all the Great Wall races, this one is known to be the most challenging. They give you 6 hours to complete the half and 9 to complete the full. Cheers to running on one of the seven wonders of the world tomorrow!! ✌ #BucketListLife
My 1:46:21 finish broke me today. Yes, that’s a great time when you didn’t train. It’s more frustration over my stagnant state, I can run 1:40s any day... I want more. Unfortunately, with only 24 hours in a day, I don’t have time for more running right now. .
.
Of course I did what any grown woman would do... I called my mom and cried to her about how frustrated I was with my finish time. She let me cry and then got me laughing about how ridiculous I sounded: I work full time, travel (almost) full time, don’t sleep, and can still rock a solid finish. #ThanksMom .
.
I’m taking myself to Bali for the week to relax, regroup, and prepare to take on the Great Wall race next Sunday. You can bet I’ll be streaming the Boston Marathon from my Villa Monday. My feed is so fun right now with all the Boston babes!! #SundayRUNday
I beat the lottery odds to get into the highly anticipated Beijing half marathon!! Not sure what education or annual salary have to do with running ability, but let’s pretend that helped. .
.
Since I was just informed I’m in, I get to run Beijing Half on the 14th of April and The Great Wall on April 21st. The best part — I’m in Beijing a total of 5 days over the next two months, two of those days to race. I like a little (lot) of chaos in my life!!
.
My plan... one week of peak training and then taper. I’ve been averaging a whopping 10 miles each week, until now. My goal: FIFTY MILES this week to get me into the spirit. Putting it out into the universe to hold myself accountable since I’m traveling. Honestly, an extra hour of sleep always sounds best when I’m away. #ICanDoHardThings
I used today’s race as training miles for the Beijing half next month. I wanted to see where I am since I haven’t been running much. Hot pot definitely wasn’t the best long run meal, I’ll be honest. However, it was a beautiful day to be outside and there’s not much to complain about when I can rock 13.1 miles without training. #LoveToRun
It’s a fun morning when you’ve got THREE Bluetooth headphones and they’re all dead when you’re ready to run. Having to deal with a cord takes me back to the pioneer days. .
.
I was just offered a spot to a sold out race this weekend. (I know some pretty awesome people in BJ!!) I’m on the fence about it, I hosting VIP guests in my current home town and don’t want 13.1 to detract from all the fun!!
I don’t know about you, but I just ran 13.22. .
.
I talked yesterday about finding faster people to run with to gain speed. I don’t train with anyone here. How do I keep speed on the road I run with the bikes in the bike lane. I’m not fast enough to keep up with the scooters... yet. There’s two long straight stretches of road along my 7 mile loop. I’ll run with the bikes on the straightaway and recover around the corners. When I catch a bike and start keeping tempo with them many are concerned at first. I love it when they pick up the pace to get away from me because it makes me work, while also pissing them off that they can’t shake me. .
.
What can I say I was motivated to run again, I hit the ‘mill for another 10k this evening. I’ve heard runners say speed work on treadmills doesn’t work. I don’t buy into that. I do most of my speed and progression runs on the treadmill and it translates to speed on the streets just fine. All my tread runs are at a 2.0 incline, that’s my flat road indoors. .
.
I’m a self trained runner and proof that you don’t need a coach to be fast. Wake up determined. Go to bed satisfied. #womenRUNit
