One of the toughest, but funnest shoots I’ve done this year was this one night back in March where I took this shot of @thomasmcgrady doing what he loves! For me it was all about combing two of my favorite activities in one night, shooting the Milkyway and mountain biking. To get this shot we only had a 30 minute window of opportunity of dark sky between the moonset and the break of dawn as sunrise approached. Then add clouds to the mix which we weren’t sure were going to completely hide the Milkyway! In the end the reward was great and worth the painstaking climb out of bed at 3:30am!
If you didn’t know already, Tom runs a pretty rad mountain biking tour and shuttle company called @californiaexpeditions. You should definitely check it out if you love mountain biking as much as we do!

Yesterday was just an all around epic day for photography up in the Sierra, but the grand finale was quite phenomenal. As much as I’m ready for summer camping I’m loving this prolonged late spring weather as it’s making for some epic photo ops!
