Although I’ve been a little quite here, I’m still creating - not as much as I would like to but soon enough I’ll be back at it! Pauses are one of my favorite ways to build better positions with the contest lifts. They usually live in the 8-5 weeks out territory, after which will usually be replaced by working off of blocks or low risers. I prefer my lifters pause AT the knee, not above or below. It works out better for my style and landmarks I give my lifters but your mileage may vary. Carlton is a big, tall guy so it’s easy to see if his angles are good or not.
