It’s either streaky (I CAN’T for the life of my apply it evenly), too orange or way darker than what I’m looking for. ⠀ ⠀ So far, I’m hooked. It’s that time of year again when I have to start adding some colour to my ghostly complexion ☀️. I really don’t mind being pale in autumn/winter as the only body parts on display are my face and hands, so you really don’t see much of me at all! However, when the sun starts to make an appearance I dread the thought of revealing my blindingly white arms and legs. I really couldn’t live with myself if an innocent passer-by was blinded by the sun’s glare reflecting off my exposed flesh, so I get busy with some self-tan before I venture outside in my t-shirts and sandals. I’ve used various cruelty-free tanning products in the past, but my friend and self-tanning aficionado @ms.makeup84 knows how much I like to try new products and recommended @theisleofparadise to me last summer. I have to say, I’m so glad she did as I love this cruelty-free, vegan range. The standout products, for me, are the tanning drops as I have dry skin and often find that fake tan exacerbates this, but I can add these to my usual body lotion and face cream without causing any discomfort. I love the fact that I can control how much product I add to the mix depending on how tanned I want to look. I am so pale that even the ‘light’ drops make a big difference to my colour and I gradually move on to the ‘medium’ drops when I want a deeper shade. Other than the faint whiff of wet dog, the main issue I have with self-tanning is that my shins don’t take any colour. I recently bought the Prep It priming spray to see if it would make a difference and I’m pleased to say that, so far, I think it has .
