HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAL Heavy Lift! It is our 39th anniversary today and we would like to take this chance to travel back in time. So let’s go back to 1985 when SAL started to go heavy: MV “ANNEGRET” (1985) Back then the vision of Hans Heinrich was to carry larger, heavier and transport more challenging cargoes. For this reason, two geared vessels were purchased from a Danish owner. One of it, was the beautiful lady MV “Annegret” which you can see on the picture. Both vessels were geared with 2 x 150 t cranes which was rather unique at the time. The vessels were trading primarily between Europe, the Arab Gulf and India transporting project cargoes, transformers and construction material. Almost 4 decades later we operate a fleet of heavy lift vessels that can lift up to 2 000 t SWL.
