Sometimes in life it is important to have certain people and events to put life into perspective. When we three putt for bogey, miss a putt on 18 to break 80, or get shut down by the cart girl in front of our buddies, it is these other events that remind us that there are more important things in life. Recently we were contacted by a couple who lost their child to a congenital abnormality known as Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH). The condition is rare, yet it still affects thousands each year with many families losing their children to the syndrome. The couple was devastated by their loss and continue to mourn, however they are determined to use their experience and memory of their daughter to make a positive difference in the lives of others that CDH has touched or will touch. In remembrance of their daughter, the couple has announced the first annual @forehadley Golf Classic, in order to help support CHERUBS, the Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia Research, Awareness, and Support Group. The Outing will be taking place at Capital City Country Club, located in Atlanta, GA. They are currently looking for players, hole sponsors, donations, or volunteers to assist at the event. Aiden's first bath!! I think it would be fair to say that Aiden did not enjoy his first bath, he was not a fan!! Day by day we are slowly experiencing many more first. With no more lines & IVs, Aiden was finally able to get in a big boy tub and take a REAL bath for the very first time. A reminder, for those of you in the Atlanta area, there's an outstanding event happening this Spring! @forehadley is putting on a charity outing in support of @savethecherubs, an organization supporting newborns suffering from CDH. Some of the proceeds will also support the Atlanta Children's Hospital, @childrensatl, keeping a good portion of money raised for local kids in the Atlanta area. Hoy, 19 de Abril, es el día internacional de la Hernia Diafragmatica congénita, la malformación con la que nació nuestra segunda hija, Francisca. Tuvimos la bendición de enterarnos en la semana 20 de gestación y poder hacer el seguimiento con un equipo de medicina fetal y de neo especializado ( ella pasó sus primeros 63 días en neo, con operaciones, respirador y si, también pasó por el ECMO). Hoy tiene 3 años y si bien vive con un sólo pulmón, nos hace ver lo importante de la vida ❤️. Verán que muchas veces cuento sobre la historia de Francisca y me pasa, más que nada, porque queremos dar testimonio y fuerzas a otros padres que viven lo mismo. Por eso, si alguien que esté leyendo esto, conoce a alguna familia en esta situación, me ofrezco a contarles nuestra experiencia.
