This is our little art center. Writing/drawing, anything using hand strength doesn't come easy for him but upon seeing his brothers interest in @artforkidshub he asked to try 1... specifically 'just 1' tutorial. However 1 turned in to 3 and I couldn't be prouder of his effort! One of my children is exactly like me. Maybe 2. And it can be a real problem, you guys. When I am having a stressful day, sometimes the clashes between me and my mini-mes are loud and messy. But when I have the ability to step outside myself in the heat of moment and observe the situation, empathy swells up for little me. It is ok to say to yourself that this is hard, and then remind yourself that this is normal and this will change. Super happy with the way this little project turned out in our dining room. I bought this fantastic Orders of the Animals calendar by @kelzuki a couple years ago and have been wanting to display the pages since we moved in. We just got a couple 8’ pieces of wood on clearance at Lowe’s (and had them cut each piece in half there), screwed them to the wall, tacked in some nails to hang these little black clips, and clipped the artwork up! Definitely a great addition to the “homeschool” aesthetic we’ve got going on

We told spooky stories around the campfire about families in the woods hearing noises, then sure enough we really started hearing noises and it was just all too much, so we went inside to clear our minds with a nature documentary about cute animals like puppies and butterflies.

Sometimes fiction hits a little too close to home.

These are the books I've read aloud since Sept, and might I add this was the first year we enjoyed reading aloud (other than picture books) Thanks to @readaloudrevival and her book 'The Read Aloud Family' for the inspiration to start ❤️ Even though we're finishing up the 'homeschooling year' we continue the read alouds as the kids love it (as do I).
