Something just a bit out of my comfort zone, but 100% in THE comfort zone. A #cielotop with gathered sleeves but no cuffs. They just seemed to drag down this double gauze (mostly because I didn’t realize you needed 4 cuffs and didn’t have enough fabric therefore lined them with a heavier fabric which was a bad idea...but there’s always a solution in sewing!) By the time I finished making it it was all ironed out flat so I wet it and stuck it in the dryer to get that good good crinkle back. blah blah blah. I was asked a couple of questions about my work-board yesterday. I have made a couple of these to make keeping my pieces organised while working in my lap, or moving from place to place. I had a piece of masonite cut into smaller pieces....this one is 12” X 14”. I centered smooth side down on a microfibre cloth turned over edges, and whip-stitched in place. OK....this is a post ONLY for people who store their fabric stacked too tightly on shelves... I hate trying to get pulled fabric neatly back on a packed shelf, but I found a magic solution!!! I purchased a thin-plastic sign at the hardware store. (For Rent; Beware of Dog etc.) I place it under the stack of fabric waiting to be reshelved, slide it onto the the top of the stack, and then pull out the plastic. Perfectly placed, unwrinkled, neatly aligned stack! SO much easier than trying to fight it into place with your hand!!!
