I found myself at the Botanical Gardens this weekend to set up this wedding cake. I should feel so ashamed that I can’t quite remember the last time I took a leisurely stroll around the Gardens. The lush grounds were made even more beautiful playing host to a celebration of love. The way to the wedding was paved by a waterfall to the right, and a lotus pond to the left. Thrilled as I already was, when we got to the wedding, happiness was in the air, and it was just so contagious. I could not stop smiling at how beautiful the couple looked, how their loved ones were happily and excitedly taking family pictures, how the little ones came up to the cake saying that they’d like to eat it, wondering if it was chocolate-flavoured on the inside (it was), other guests capturing photos of the cake, asking if the sugar flowers were edible. It’s these precious little moments and conversations that make everything worth the while. On another note, I hope I won’t take too long to head back to the Botanical Gardens. Time around nature and gardens is time well spent.
