They reformulated / rebranded their lineup this year and here is a comparison post of what I’ve tried. All of these are sunscreen milks, characterised by their ultra fluid texture and long wearing formula. They vary in filters and texture but all sit well under makeup with no pilling. Swipe right for visual comparison of the 2018 lineup. • #skinmusings_empties ☀️ EMPTY 1 Essence UV Sunscreen Aqua Booster Mild SPF 35 PA+++ (White bottle 2017) Zinc Oxide, Uvinal T 150, Univnal A Plus & Tinosorb S. • This full sized bottle was my introduction to Anessa and I have not looked back since. I much prefer Asian sunscreens for their cosmetic elegance and usage of newer UV filters not yet approved in Australia. While most of them contain alcohol, formulas without are steadily growing in number. Developed for sensitive skin, this is fragrance and alcohol free. I used it as a daily SPF (I work in an office building) and it ticks all the boxes. Highly recommended and has been replaced by newbie 2 below. • ☀️ EMPTY 2 Perfect UV Sunscreen Mild Milk SPF 50+ PA++++ (Beige bottle 2018) Zinc Oxide, Titanium Dioxide, Uvinul T 150, Uvinul A Plus & Tinosorb S. • This version made for sensitive skin is also fragrance and alcohol free while still offering SPF 50. Titanium dioxide is an added UV filter compared to the SPF 35. I used this exclusively on my face and neck for 5 weeks in Europe and it did a great job preventing new pigmentation and darkening of existing spots. It does have the thickest texture of the lot. This is exactly the same formula as the 2017 Perfect UV Sunscreen Aqua Booster Mild. I would repurchase for outdoor use. • NEWBIE 1 Perfect UV Sunscreen Skincare Milk SPF 50+ PA++++ (Gold bottle 2018) Zinc Oxide, Octinoxate, Octocrylene, Titanium Dioxide, Uvinul A Plus & Tinosorb S. • Most robust assortment of UV filters, offering the strongest protection in the Anessa lineup. This replaces the silver (essence UV) and gold (perfect UV) aqua booster released in 2016 and has actually been reformulated. • • CONTINUED IN COMMENTS

Omg, let me tell you how IMPRESSED I am with this little beaut! It has a thin runny texture similar to Biore Perfect Milk Sunscreens, but with none of the white cast and intense siliconey-ness! My skin dried gorgeously matte and I only greased up to a satiny, skin like finish by the end of the day, instead of a total greaseball like I normally do. The AM routine which got deleted from my drafts : . This has been my morning routine for 2 weeks now. It’s working out exceptionally well, so I’ll be sticking to it until something runs out. I tend to stick to the same AM routine if it works well. My PM routine is when I get to have a bit more fun. . Cleanse: #SkinDewi Raspberry Cleansing Milk - A thicker consistency perfect for massaging into your face. I use around 4-5 pumps on dry or slightly damp skin. Leaves my face so soft & supple. I can only describe the scent as herbal (not medicinal). I enjoy the scent as it adds a nice olfactory experience. This works just as well as a second cleanser, but I just enjoy it more in the morning ‍♀️ Exfoliating toner #BiologiqueRecherche ‘s P50 My half-half experiment: #SundayRiley CEO Rapid Flash for the left side of my face & #DrunkElephant C-Firma for the right. If you’re wondering what my experiment is, I talked about it 2 posts back. Hydrating layers was what I was lacking in my routine so I added a hydrating lotion & serum in between steps (not pictured, both from Clinique. Too lazy to take a new photo & also because I haven’t formed an opinion on them yet). Skin Dewi’s Temulawak Emulsion - 3 pumps if the weather isn’t hot & muggy; as this would be layered under Protini. If it is, I add another pump for my cheeks & forehead and that would be it for moisturizer. Out of the Skin Dewi products I have, this is my favourite. It’s light, absorbs very quickly, no greasy residue, yet still manages to keep my skin happy. Light yellow colour from the temulawak (Javanese ginger) extract. Again, there is an earthy herbal scent but it dissipates after application. This is for oily and/or acne prone skin. If you’re looking for a light moisturizer which can help with sebum production, go check this one out. My cheeks, forehead & chin have become less oily. Zostałam dzisiaj zapytana jakie filtry matujące poleciłabym w mniej rażącej cenie niż matte porless z supergoop i odpowiedź jest jedna - Azjatyckie . Serio . Osobiście najbardziej lubię filtry Japońskie dlatego , że mają w sobie to coś czego nie mają nasze zachodnie - przede wszystkim wchłaniają się szybciutko , ładnie matują buzię i nie kleją się . Są przeznaczone typowo pod makijaż i nie skrają jego przydatności wręcz utrwalają . Praktycznie wszystkie Azjatyckie filtry maja SPF 50+ PA++++ czyli najwyższą ochronę , bardzo wiele z nich jest tonująca i rozświetlająca jak np. Skin Aqua i suncut , a także allie . Dlaczego ? Większość z nich ma w składzie alkohol i silikony , ale nie zauważyłam , żeby nadmiernie przesuszały moją skórę , albo zapychały ją - wręcz przeciwnie jakby balansowały wydzielanie sebum i wygłaszały skórę . dobrych japońskich filtrów szukajcie u @ber_de_ver właścicielka @agavergarayos jest mistrzynią jeżeli chodzi o doradzanie produktów - zna się kobita na rzeczy :D . Dobrym tanim filtrem jest filtr z biore aqua essence , ale uważam też, że moje nowe dziecko skin aqua , które przywiozłam teraz z Japonii nie jest w ogóle gorsze . When it comes to SPF, choosing something that you will wear everyday is key. In that regard, I consider Japanese sunscreens some of the most cosmetically elegant ones on the market. Yes, the majority of them contain alcohol denat to achieve a thinner texture, but for the most part it doesn’t bother my skin. Still, I wanted an alcohol free alternative. A favourite I discovered this year is the white bottle Shiseido Anessa for sensitive skin. It has SPF35 PA+++ which is sufficient protection for my daily commute to the office. It’s a combination of physical and chemical filters but it doesn’t feel heavy at all, in fact the texture is a thin milky fluid that sits well under makeup. So there I was, minding my own business at @guardianvietnam holding my Hada Labo Cleansing Oil in my hot little hands when I saw a little tester of the Anessa sunscreen so I thought I would try it. Now, I’m SUPER loyal to my beloved Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence so I wasn’t expecting much but OH MAN. It dried down BEAUTIFULLY matte with zero white cast! I heard angels singing. I knew I had to try it so I picked up the little 20ml bottle to see how it goes on my face. The only thing is it’s HELLA expensive (this 20 ml bottle is almost 2x as expensive as my Biore Watery Essence) so I almost don’t wanna fall in love with it haha. Who else loves this sunscreen? How freakishly adorable is that tiny bottle of my fave #shiseido Anessa gold sunscreen?! I remember someone telling me that the Rohto Melano CC serum is a good and affordable vitamin c serum. It does say it's targeted at whitening but I thought I'd give it a try anyway. I thought I'd do a post on my skincare routine this morning☀️ . Also, I'm trying a different theme again, and want to try to use stuff from nature but with the white background I used in some of my previous shots. Let's see how that goes My routine changes from day to day, depending on how my skin feels, and which actives I want to use. This is a simple routine with a vitamin c serum and a moisturizing sunscreen. I don't apply too many layers when I use the vitamin c suspension 23 %, because I want it to absorb easily and it's also very hydrating because of the squalane. I apply a mix of vitamin c serum and a couple of drops of the ferulic acid + resveratrol, apply the Purito serum, and top it off with the Anessa sunscreen.
