My little one has been feeling stuffy for a few days now so to help her breathe better I made Peppermint and Lavender shower melts. They help give feelings of open airways and promote clear breathing. You can use different oils for different effects, but this one has been especially helpful for her.
.
All you need is
~1 cup baking soda
~15–20Breathe and Lavender
~⅓ cup water
~Silicone mold
.
Combine baking soda and water in a small bowl, mix well, and add 15–20 drops (depending on desired potency) Breathe and Lavender. Stir until well combined.
Pack mixture into small silicone molds and allow to set overnight. Store in a glass container.
.
To use, place a tab in your shower away from the direct flow of water and enjoy!

DIY Shower Melts
.
These are so easy to make and smell amazing! Shower melts are a great way to naturally open your airways, and are perfect for having on hand for cold and flu season.
.
As the tab gradually dissolves a soothing steam fills the air. The shower acts as a natural diffuser and the aromatic steam may help ease cough and congestion symptoms.
.
Recipe
-1c baking soda
-1/3c water
-15-30 drops essential oil
.
Mix all ingredients and then spoon into a silicone mold. Allow 2 days to dry. .
Oil options: breathe, eucalyptus, peppermint, rosemary.
.
TIPS: -These took 2 full days to dry! I didn’t try this, but you might get them to dry a little faster by tossing them in the oven on low for a few minutes.
-I used 15 drops of essential oil on my first batch and I could smell it in the shower, but I think next time I’m going to add more so that the smell is stronger.
-These don’t only have to be made for cold and flu season. You could add any combo of your favorite oils and benefit from the aromatherapy!
