The 39th edition of the Karakozy Abdaliyev Memorial Tournament was held in the city of Shymkent in South Kazakhstan. Host Kazakhstan achieved five gold medals in the Abdaliyev Memorial Tournament but the two top Kyrgyz boxers won their weight classes and debutant Hungary also achieved one title in Shymkent.
Eight men's weight classes were in the official program of the Abdaliyev Memorial Tournament in Shymkent where Hungary, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Syria, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan competed for the medals. Altogether 133 men elite boxers attended in the five-day long competition in Shymkent.
Kazakhstan's Anvar Muzaparov has been attending in the international events since 2009 and the 26-year-old boxer had enough experiences to eliminated Syria's Islamic Solidarity Games winner Hussin Al-Masri in the semi-finals of the flyweight (52kg). Muzaparov continued his winning path in the final against Tajikistan's teenager Dilshod Okilov and claimed the first title of the whole competition.
Kyrgyzstan's Sirodjiddin Abdullaev won international competitions in Russia, in Kazakhstan and in Kyrgyzstan in the recent two years. The 23-year-old boxer, who attended in the Asian Games also in Jakarta as well, won five contests in the Abdaliyev Memorial Tournament including Uzbekistan's Shamsherbek Mirzabekov in the final. Experienced international level boxers from Kazakhstan such as Yevgeniy Pavlov and Olzhas Kalaubek were not able to get any medals in the competition.
The gold medal of the light welterweight (63kg) was taken by Daniyar Zhaksylyk who exceeded all of the previous expectations in Shymkent. The young Kazakh talent was slightly better than National Champion Adilet Kurmetov who qualified for the Hamburg 2017 AIBA World Boxing Championships. The bronze medals of the category were bagged by Russia's Timur Imashev and Kyrgyzstan's Bek Kamchybekov. ⬇️⬇️⬇️
