Ever hear of a Ledeboria socialis “silver squill?” It is one of the strangest rare plants I have ever owned. Native to South Africa, the spotted leaves grow out of purple succulent bulbs above the soil. Sadly I had to give it away to my mom after my cat started nibbling at it and I learned it is very poisonous to animals. It has grown tremendously in her care though: what started off as a tiny plant with a few bulbs from @adamsandsongardens now is a large bouquet of bizzare-purple-bulb-leopard-leaf-awesomeness. Just don’t eat it ☠️b
