Phew! The weekend went by in a zip, and some of us are still recovering come Monday evening. 2 garage sales, an entire zoo of hoomans parading through our home to pick up things for a guy named Craig (who must have a REALLY big list,) and then the 80 degree weather starts getting breezy and chilly as soon as we finish dinner! Gidget was brought into a local shelter weighing a whopping 1.18lbs, at an estimated 12 weeks old. She was so emaciated + covered in fleas she was suspected of having Parvo + not expected to live beyond the first 48 hours of intake. Thankfully through the dedication of an entire team of veterinarians, staff, volunteers, + one amazing foster mother, Gidget was nursed back to health over the next 2 months, until she tipped the scale at a healthy 1.6lbs + was cleared to be spayed. Her hoomans spotted her intake poster on the shelter billboard while leaving the shelter from one of their regular donation drop-off visits. Knowing it was a long shot, they contacted the foster mother to began the nerve-wracking process of following her recovery while waiting alongside a list of over 20 other potential adoption families. Today Gidget, as named by her foster mother because she was 'smaller than a widget,' is thriving at an impressive 2.6lbs + nearly 3 years of age. She is full of wonderful personality, the loudest bark at the doggy park despite her size, + the most dedicated slurp distributor you'll ever meet.
