•Diagnosis Day• . In honor of our diagnosis day three years ago, here’s Sebastian walking, squeaking, thriving, doing literally what every single person/doctor said he never could. I know we sometimes take for granted him walking with his sticks because it’s our ‘normal’ now. But, realizing that three years ago they said he would be completely paralyzed. No movement, never even being able to hold his own head up, I am seriously so amazed everyday. This boy has beat every single odd ever thrown against him. . . Wow 3 whole years ago. 3 years since they told us that our son had no quality of life, 3 years since they told us his life was less than, 3 years since they pushed us over and over to get an abortion. I cannot imagine a life where Sebastian is not in it. I thank God everyday for giving me the strength & Faith to see past what everyone said and never letting abortion be an option for us. This boy isn’t finished yet, he has a bigger purpose in this life. He’s going to keep amazing everyone. I just know it!

After deliberating whether to post this or not - I decided to. Training brings me so much happiness yet I regularly feel disappointment after watching footage of myself. When I am at the gym I don’t feel disabled. This is because I’m so focused on what I’m doing and I don’t think about anything else. I feel great doing it and I put every bit of energy I have into it and then in reality, I watch it back and feel truly disappointed This is because I’m a perfectionist and I almost ignore my physical difficulties! I know exactly what I need to do with my technique and I just get annoyed when my body doesn’t mirror my thoughts. But that’s Spina Bifida for you! But you know what? Because it’s more difficult, this is the reason why I push harder. This happened yesterday ❤️ . . . Rylan gets therapy every Friday after school. He is usually very tired after his hour session. Yesterday however, he wanted to walk out of therapy instead of using his wheelchair and he did not have his HKAFO's (tall) braces on . For those who don't know his tall braces provide much more support for him when standing or walking so for him to do this without those braces, it makes him work twice as hard to maintain his balance and support himself on his legs, so this is HUGE!!!!
