During her Christmas visit with her parents, Copy Director Susan McWilliams (@sassyeditrix) was tickled to find that the “fresh and local” movement has made its way to rural Kentucky. Susan’s tiny hometown of Stanford now includes The Bluebird, a restaurant dedicated to making creative use of local products to promote sustainable local agriculture. William Whitley House is a Georgian style mansion built in 1794 in rural Lincoln Co., KY. It was the first brick house built west of the Alleghany Mountains. The brick walls are two feet thick which was designed to protect its occupants from indian attack.
