A threshold mosaic that once belonged to Dunn & Co, a chain of outfitters that boasted over three hundred stores at its peak. Founded by George Arthur Dunn at the turn of the century, Dunn & Co became a well known high street name selling affordable hats and menswear. However by the beginning of the nineties their luck had began to run out; faced with competition from the likes of Next and changes in fashion that didn't involve hats the business began to falter, before finally being wound up in 1996.
Thankfully many traces of their distinctive shopfronts remain, including this mosaic with it's tasty letterspacing and flat topped ampersand. I'll take my hat off to that!

SAM (Sindicatos Agrícolas Montañeses) // activa desde 1932 hasta la década de los 90 como cooperativa, donde ha pasado a ser parte de otras empresas Lacteas y desde 2007 es parte de Agrocantabria. Su sede sigue estando en Renedo de Piélagos.
Es muy habitual ver por Cantabria aún algunos de los puntos de recogida de leche que quedan. Son casetas con el rótulo y esa tipografía tan moderna, que en muchos casos ha desaparecido de las paredes.
Es un elemento gráfico y arquitectónico que se debería proteger #SosPatrimonio
