I recently read a study that found that 85% of people who go on a diet without behavioral support gain the weight back within two years and that yo-yo dieters are likely to gain more weight than non-dieting friends and have poorer health. And yet, 50% of women are still on these diets! This was my story. I forever struggled with my weight and went back and forth yo-yo dieting for years. I finally lost some weight in high school only to gain it all back in college plus about 50 more lbs. I had very little hope of changing until I found a program that focused not only what I was eating, but all of the habits and emotions surrounding it. Where I once felt powerless to food, I now have the tools and coping mechanisms to view food based on its nutritional worth and something to bless my body. This doesn’t mean I still struggle (cuz guys I should tell you about last week), but it does mean that I never have to go back to what I was before. I am always learning, always moving forward, and there is always hope.

What he prescribed initially was what I needed to begin healing! You see me show up on here everyday. I'd like to think I seem confident, sure of myself. I like showing up. Bring consistent. Sharing value. Getting to know you guys. But there is a huge part you don't see. Here is what you don't see. You don't see: ✓ the stress of wondering why that last potential client didn't work out. ✓ the doubt that creeps into my mind telling me I'm terrible at this. ✓ the breakdown because I've put so much pressure on myself to deliver to a certain standard. ✓ the questioning of why I'm doing this everyday when I don't see results and I see everyone else being booked out months in advance (ah comparison ) - I put A LOT of pressure on myself. If I saw a friend talking about herself like I have lately I would tell her she is being ridiculous because she's amazing, she's achieved so much and that she's got so much good coming around the corner, so why can't I talk to myself the same way? Why are we so hard on ourselves? I may seem confident but I do have my moments. I have my doubts. I am working on this, daily. It's hard sometimes, but regardless of the negativity I keep going. Why? Because I know my why and I know what I want to accomplish and the impact I want to have on the people that cross my path. So I guess in saying this I want to reassure you, that it's okay, that we all have those times when we doubt ourselves, but keep going. If you're ever having those moments reach out, say hi, because I know what its like to feel the pressure. Mental health is real and its one of the most silent killers, don't suffer in silence, find a way to free yourself from it, do whatever it takes to overcome it. Sometimes it's not always easy speaking to people about your problems, because we are afraid of being judged or perceived as not having it altogether. I find in life somethings things have to fall apart, you have to go through the situation to understand your strengths and face your weaknesses.
