I can’t believe I haven’t done a post featuring this Old Navy jacket...maybe because I did a Story about it when I bought it a few weeks ago. In any case, it’s a beauty, and I love it. As many of us in the Midwest know (and have mentioned), this spring seems more chilly and rainy than usual. This means I’ve been wearing a lot of jackets lately, not just at night but during the day. I’ve actually bought three new jackets since we got back from Arizona, but only one was fairly pricey (the oversized denim jacket from Madewell). In any case, I’m getting my money’s worth out of all three these days, and I know I’ll be wearing them in the fall, as well. On Monday and Tuesday, I posted Stories about our local SuperTarget, which has been recently renovated to look like a stylish department store (in fact, someone commented that it looked nicer than their Macy’s). I asked if there were other departments or areas you wanted to see, and so far the answers are: Dollar Spot, shoes, children’s clothes and either the women’s plus size clothing area or the Prologue line, which I’m not familiar with but is being called “understated and sophisticated.” Any other suggestions? I’ll probably be heading over there today and will post a Story about it tomorrow. So, I thought this would be a good time to tell (or remind) you what this account is all about. 1) This is a wonderful hobby, not a business, so I can’t provide links or promotions because I’m not selling anything. 2) Because of that, there are no sponsored posts or collaborations. And no giveaways. 3) All of the clothes you see on this Page are my own; nothing has been “gifted.” 4) Most of my posts are flatlays because I love creating them, and I believe they are the best way to showcase all of the details of an outfit. 5) However, you will see mirrored selfies in Stories, usually headless, because sometimes it’s necessary to show the fit or length of certain pieces. And, occasionally, I’ll pop out at you, because I think it’s good to see the face behind the account. When I started this Page nearly five years ago, this was the norm. Now many women have turned blogging into a full-time job. While it isn’t right for me, I applaud them because I have a small idea of how difficult and time-consuming it is. Fortunately, there’s still a place for a variety of accounts here on IG. And, since my “love” is flatlays, let’s talk about this one...We had “summer” briefly this past weekend, but now it’s sweater and/or jacket weather again, so you may recognize this almost iconic Madewell sweater from last fall (and a number of TV commercials). I actually saw it in store again in March because it sold so well. Besides, earth colors are “on trend” this spring. So, if you own this beauty, you may want to dig it out on chilly days and nights (unless you’re roasting somewhere down South), and pair it with springlike accessories, as I’ve done here. Do you remember the bags from target that every stitcher in the US was cross stitching on? Well, this morning we saw someone post about some shoes that could be stitched onto and guess what? They were from Tesco so now everyone in the UK can stitch them! Naturally I ran down to our local Tesco and grabbed a pair. They came in Pink or Navy and I decided on Pink. I found a pattern from Cross Stitch Crazy by Sosae Caetano, and stitched on two of the flowers from her spring sampler.
