I’m still up with my baby so it’s still Friday so I’ve still got time to do a #fridayintroductions post right?! I’m Mary. I’m an artist at heart, momma to three kids (whimsy 5, glory 3, Oren 3 months) and wife to Marten. We own a coffee shop/roaster called @kainoscoffee (where I’m at in this photo!) and we are constantly hustling to make our dreams come true. We call the Pacific Northwest home and are very proud of our little town, The Dalles Oregon. I grew up a city girl dreaming of a lifetime spent living in New York City, but now I’ve fallen in love with the country life and spend my days learning to garden and make my own version of pretty much anything store bought using essential oils and all that other “hippy stuff” I laughed at when I was a teen growing up in West Texas I never pictured myself a mom, much less a homeschool mom, but now I wouldn’t dream of it any other way. I’ve found a whole new version of “me” lately and it’s been wild and wonderful. I struggle with mental health issues and am very open about it. There’s no shame in body chemistry folks. I speak out about things that are important to me, and pretty much any time I learn something useful, I share it here. I want to spend my life lifting others up, and a huge part of that is humbly sharing what I know. It makes me so happy to do this. At the same time, I’m also stubborn as a donkey and fiercely independent, so I’m learning to let others in and accept (and ugh, ask for!) help. Lately I’m on a self-care journey and I’ve found that goes way beyond a facial and a pedicure. It’s hard stuff! I’ve also been working on making my home a safe place for our family- both by clearing out toxic chemicals and by decorating in an inspiring way (which includes blank walls for my minimalist husband and literal rainbows for my girls). I have always been an entrepreneur and have spent most of my life doing exciting business things, so it’s interesting to have a season of life that’s much more personal, inward-focused, you know? Anyway- whether you’re new here or have been following for a while, please do me a favor and say hi below ❤️ I truly love “meeting” people here!

There is nothing more life-giving than getting to share my travel experiences with my nearest and dearest ••• A few years ago, I met the lovely @emmyauthentics. Within days of knowing each other, we had booked a month-long holiday together to Bali. Traveling with a near-stranger is normally considered a pretty risky move, but it certainly paid off for us... Years of incredible friendship later and we are still going on wild adventures together! For the record, I would highly recommend everyone having a friend like Emily in their lives. Not only does she laugh with me, cry with me and act ridiculously weird with me, she also challenges, motivates and genuinely inspires me to be a better person (also gets bonus points this trip for making me matcha lattes & letting me steal her clothes)
