Some folks have told me that the Maiden is a “good deal” when compared to its big brother. Out of curiosity I bought a three pack of 2012 a few years ago and just tried for the first time recently out of my cellar. This is a great bottle of wine. Classic Napa Cab. I’d like to try some other vintages though - it’s hard to tell if it’s the quality of the 2012 vintage or quality of winemaking that I’m experiencing. Harlan Estate The Maiden ( RP94 ) . . 최근 재밌게 리스트를 몇개 짜봤는데 그중에 최고라고 생각하는 리스트가 이날 보틀들이다 (물론 개취지만...) 할란은 콜긴과 스크리밍 이글과함께 대표적인 미국 컬트와인이다.(물론 브라이안 패밀리나 슬론을 넣기도하지만 대개 저 셋이 일반적일듯) 블렌딩도 거의 비슷한 같은 빈티지 할란의 세컨와인과 콜긴을 마시면 두와인의 방향성이나 부르고뉴 2종과 마찬가지로 등급차이에서 나오는 접근성이나 가성비도 덤으로 비교해볼수 있어서 재밌을것같았다. 그러다보니 전부 2잔씩 서빙하고 나중에는 4잔의 레드와인을 2번째잔으로 다 비교해서 마셨다. 문제는 너무 바빠서 이날은 노트를 못한것~~ 일단 메이든은 거의 공통으로 최고로 뽑았는데 밀키하고 연유같은 텍스춰에 진한 체리나 과실향, 담배, 에스프레소, 독특한 허브향, 오크향, 무스크향이 잘 어우러졌고 오일리한 체리나 짙은 딸기시럽이 입을 코팅해주는 느낌이었다. 너무 진하고 우디하며 과실감이나 당미도 진한 할란보다 잘익어서 그런지 왜려 더 폭이 넓은 느낌이었는데, 고기와 매칭해서인지 따뜻한 미국 Meritage 와인의 매력을 잘보여줬다. 잘만든 올빈 에르미따주나 잘익은 본마르의 텍스춰와도 살짝 맥이 닿는 느낌으로 미국와인 잘 안드신다고 한분들도 이날 압도적인 1등. . . #HarlanEstate #TheMaiden #P94 #할란메이든 #잘익은미국와인 #고기가녹았음 #향맡고게임오버 #할란의세컨와인 #할란에스테이트 #메리티지와인 #우진가챔버스 #라비엥로즈
