Aaaaamen @joyforney! We have podcast on this coming out tomorrow- all this Rachel Hollis nonsense. This false gospel that abounds! We're happily soaking up the heresies of the Bethel's, Hillsong's, Elevation's, etc etc... We need to discern, we must rake everything through the truth of scripture and turn away having nothing to do with falsities! If it's making you feel warm and fuzzy, making you grab on to the things of this world-- those are clear signs to run! We need to care about the pollution of the gospel. #theologymatters #americangospel
Here is an area I need much more growth and discipline in. If our Lord, who is the eternal Son of God taken on flesh, was moved to prayer, how much more should we? The Son fellowships with the Father and opened the door to the throne room for us through adoption. We can share in such fellowship, approaching the feet of the Father as sons and daughters of the king. If Christ the Lord, sees the need for fellowship, how much more us? The dependents upon the king? Jesus awoke, ‘very early in the morning while it was still dark to pray.’ If we are to imitate Christ we need to seek to follow this example; One lesson here is the principle of priorities. Which is more important, sleep or having your breakfast through prayer and the word? Which will cause the most fruitful day, being spiritually malnourished or having your spiritual food? How can we expect to walk in the Spirit while not meeting at the throne of grace? How can we operate without grace, without meeting the Lord and abiding in him? We cannot. In fact, the Lord tells us apart from him, we can do nothing (John 15). Let us follow Christ’s example and realize the importance of such disciplines.
