Zum einen hat mich das Buch sehr beeindruckt. Ich konnte nicht aufhören zu lesen, und es hat mich noch den ganzen Tag über beschäftigt, nachdem ich es beendet hatte. Andererseits ist es auch ein ziemlich krasses und beklemmendes Buch gewesen. Habt ihr es schon gelesen? Wie ging es euch dabei? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ KURZE INHALTSANGABE: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Überall auf der Welt können Frauen auf einmal über Berührungen tödliche Stromschläge verteilen. Jetzt sind Frauen das stärkere Geschlecht und die Männer müssen sich vor Gewalt und Missbrauch fürchten. Das Gleichgewicht verschiebt sich, neue Sekten entstehen und Kriege brechen aus.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Man begleitet als Leser hauptsächlich vier Personen während dieser Zeit: Eine Politikerin und eine jugendliche Waise aus den USA, die Tochter eines Gangsterbosses aus England, einen Journalisten aus Afrika. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ REZENSION: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Es war ein gutes Buch mit interessantem Thema, das mich total gefesselt hat! Es war aber auch teilweise sehr heftig, so dass ich mich während des Lesens unwohl gefühlt habe (z.B. bei Vergewaltigungsszenen oder detaillierten Gewaltdarstellungen). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Gut fand ich, dass man die Wut der Frauen richtig gespürt hat, und auch ihre Freude darüber, zurückschlagen zu können, und die verschiedenen Aspekte, die beleuchtet wurden (Auswirkung auf Politik, Religion etc.) Was mir außerdem gefallen hat, war der Blickwinkel von Tunde, dem Journalisten, der einzige männliche Charakter, den man verfolgen konnte. So hat man auch ein bisschen darüber erfahren können, wie sich das Geschehen auf die männliche Welt auswirkt. Der Schreibstil war nüchtern und fast sachlich, was aber nicht schlimm war, da das gesamte Buch ohnehin fast wie ein Bericht aufgemacht war. Leider sind die Charaktere dadurch etwas unzugänglich geblieben. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Abschließend kann ich sagen, es ist bestimmt kein Buch für schwache Nerven, aber sehr spannend! Mir fällt es deshalb schwer, hier Sterne zu verteilen

i realized this morning that i’ve fallen far behind on actual reviews, so forgive me while i knock out three books with one post ↠ * * THE POWER by naomi alderman – ⭐️⭐️⭐️ – this book was incredibly thought-provoking for me and quite an interesting read. i felt that the four main stories were almost too much, though, and wish it focused on just one or two main characters. * NORMAL PEOPLE by sally rooney – ⭐️⭐️⭐️ – this was a really easy read but it ultimately fell right in the middle of the road for me. the characters are unlikeable (on purpose) and their complicated relationship kept me interested, but something about it left me wanting more. * DAISY JONES by taylor jenkins reid – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – there’s not much left to say about this book that hasn’t already been said on here. i mostly loved the interview-style this was written in as i felt it made it a super unique read, but there was just *something* missing that i felt like would have been there had it been written as a normal novel. * * * * #bookreview #bookstagram #bookblogger #bookspines #bookstack #chicagoblogger #rainbowspines #emvreads #bookrecommendations #amreading #thepower #normalpeople #daisyjonesandthesix
