I have 2 things to say about this one. Firstly, aren’t my designs SO minimalist?! I know this is a lot but the fact of the matter is that living eco is a complex issue made up of many more complex issues. What we eat is no different. But please don’t get overwhelmed. You won’t be able to tick all these boxes, every time. Another green chap once said “it’s like an onion… it has layers”. This is food for thought . I want it to get people pondering their part in the food system. Observe your life through the lens of your consumption. Chat to your loved ones about it. Get them involved (kids especially). Feel free to share it (no permission needed - just credit me and we’re apples!). Secondly - this part is for anyone who is limbering up their thumbs ready to angrily type “you’re not a REAL environmentalist” due to references to the consumption of animal products (yes, this happens a rather damn lot). Firstly, you don’t know what I personally eat. Secondly, we all have different styles of change-making. Here’s mine : I don’t want to preach to the converted, I want to speak to people who are undertaking the scary experience of waking up to their environmental footprint (something we’ve all done at varying stages and is welcome regardless of when you arrive at the party). My mission is to inspire + empower people to make better choices daily, regardless of where they’re at in the journey. I don’t expect people to go vego overnight + find demanding drastic change often scares ppl away. For you, maybe you turned vegan overnight and are eco-perfect in every way, but for others (me included) change takes time and gradual shifts. I’m here for ANYONE who is participating + trying. I don’t believe in name-calling or shaming, nor speaking from a place of “enlightenment” nor labelling others with non-nuanced grades (good person/bad ). Productive debate and respectful conversation are always welcome. Judgement is not. If on your page your advocacy style is louder and more forceful, I respect that. I would never go to your page to tone-police you. In return, I will expect the same. Rant over.

Truly beautiful work by @shades_of_green_permaculture and @aubsabb - WATER, PLANTS + PEOPLE // The three pillars of a thriving system. This 160-acre residential farming development is situated along the Pacific Coast of the Nicoya Peninsula, Costa Rica, adjacent to one of the largest sea turtle reserves in Central America. We were charged with designing extensive farming operations, nurseries, animal systems, orchards, and useful ornamental landscapes for this multi-phase project. The full build out includes two farm-to-table restaurants, a spa, a hotel, rental facilities, a yoga shala, beach pa­vilions, and many phases of residences. In conjunction with a civil engineer and a world-renowned architect, we designed an off-grid gravity fed water system to seasonally distribute the rainwater and generate enough water to sustain irrigation throughout the dry season. In this part of the world, they have 10 feet of rain in 5-months, and 7-months of zero precipitation. Better Farm (@betterfarm) ist ein Ort, der seit fast einem halben Jahrhundert Tausende von Menschen miteinander, mit Kunst und mit der Umwelt verbinden will. Er befindet sich in Redwood im US-Bundesstaat New York und wurde ursprünglich in den 70er Jahren als Kommune gegründet. Heutzutage behält Better Farm die kommunalen Werte bei und legt einen stärkeren Fokus auf Kunst und Nachhaltigkeit. Die Stuttgarter Fotografin Jodie C Taylor interessiert sich für Umweltthemen und nachhaltiges Leben. Better Farm ist der erste Ort, den sie als Teil einer Langzeitarbeit fotografiert hat.
