My business name has the word lavender in it and this was the first time I did a photo session in a lavender field and it was so much fun! Fun fact, after sunset all million (or so) of the disappear. Before sunset, they are all over the place, but actually didn’t seem to mind us being there. I can say this with confidence because we ended the session with zero bee stings. . Lili is one of my senior reps and it has been great to get to know her. She is fun, willing to lay down in a dirty field with bees buzzing everywhere around her, makes people feel at ease and is so genuine. Thanks for making my job easy!

Here’s another story from this super fun photo session. I somehow got a stick jammed into the top of my foot, which I had to perform surgery on myself to remove the next day. But I already told you: the important thing is no one ended up with a sting. . On another note, it has been really great getting to know Mikayla too. She has been nothing but kind, gracious and lovely during our photo sessions even when I can’t stop saying the same joke over and over.

Mrs. Graham was my art teacher and neighbor from middle through high school. She taught me everything from photoshop to the pottery wheel and kiln. She's the reason I went to art school in the first place and why I'm still working in the arts today. She was such a passionate, insightful and patient woman. So grateful to have had her and her family in my life. Seeing this story gave me such joy and reminds us how important and timeless art really is. Where my love for running was born: 8th grade track. ... It was near the end of the ‘94 season and I had watched a meet (in complete awe) at Thurston High School—it was the girls 4X400M relay. The entire high school track team gathered around the final turn of the track forming “the sea of red.” As runners rounded the corner, the intense cheers inspired each athlete to dig deep and find a 5th gear to pass the baton after sprinting an all-out, gutsy lap. The energy was contagious—a tsunami of positive vibes, and I was hooked. ... I loved the idea of a team sport that celebrated individual accomplishments. I loved watching the strength and grace of the human body in motion. I loved the smell of the fresh cut grass in the center of the track.
