Tom Ford - Purple Patchouli I remember discovering Tom Ford fragrances soon after this perfume was discontinued, circa 2010. I always wanted to experience this scent and I finally got the chance when I purchased this bottle online. This is a beautiful patchouli scent that I imagine really complimented the private blend line when it was launched in 2007. It would’ve fit in perfectly with Amber Absolute, Japon Noir and Black Violet which were also discontinued (part of the original 2007 collection). This is very different to patchouli Absolu, it’s slightly lighter and dries down much sweeter. It’s an elegant fragrance with amazing longevity. The notes are patchouli, jasmine, Peru balsam, amber and vetiver. So here is my review for Plum Japonais, I posted a first impressions a few weeks ago and compared it to Lost Cherry. I really enjoy Plum Japonais! Hope you enjoy reading my review and feel free to share your opinion in regards to this scent, wish you all a great Sunday! . I get a fruity plummy floral vibe from the opening. It's slightly sweet, but also slightly sour, as you would expect of a plum scent. Really well balanced. And it comes off a little bit boozy plum liqueur). Cinnamon and vanilla give it some additional sweetness. . It's delicious and pretty unique, slightly gourmandish scent. It has oud in it which gives it a slightly dark vibe, but not in a medicinal way, it's a very soft and subtle oud and it adds to the cozyness of this scent. It would be an amazing choice for cold and rainy autumn days, but also for winter if you sit in front of a cozy fireplace for example. . It has good longevity on my skin, projection is moderate, the scent sits close to the skin after ca. 2 hours. It's a very good unisex scent which I would recommend for colder weather. It's definitely one of my favorites from Tom Ford's Private Blend line! I unfortunately don't know if it's discontinued, but I haven't seen it in stores recently. It is still a definitely more complex and interesting, and also a more versatile fragrance than Lost Cherry to me. .
