Who knew that my best buddy in the whole world would turn out to be a messy, curly haired, 30lb little person who always has a tiny giraffe with him and who some days spins around in circles just to feel what it’s like to be dizzy? . It’s not lost on me how lucky I am to be able to stay home with this little man; to be able to start rainy mornings slowly, in the middle of the week, if we so choose—to watch cartoons, do fun activities, and to be able to be present for all of his milestones. It’s a privilege to watch him grow and I’m lucky for how much time I get to spend doing it. I know that staying at home with kids isn’t for everyone, even if it’s not forever, but right now, I feel lucky to be here and it’s something I never want to take for granted. Soaking up some extra snuggles in bed on these rainy mornings is a great reminder of how good we’ve got it, me and my little BFF .

All these photos were taken on the same day. July 8th 2018. And yet, I look different in every single one. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ In the first photo I had just been admitted into my delivery room, anxiously waiting for the epidural. The storm had not yet begun. ⁣The pre-delivery blow out, lash and brow appointments were having the desired effect. #CuteAF ⁣⁣ ⁣ The second photo was taken 20 hours after being pumped with 4 different kinds of drugs. I’m puffy, annoyed and terrified because I’m not dilating and I’ve just been told I have to bring Lucas into the world via c-section. ⁣#PuffyAF ⁣⁣ ⁣ The third pic, and my favourite of the three, is 23 hours after being admitted, when I finally held my baby boy in my arms for the first time. I look like I’ve been through the ringer. I had been. I can hardy keep my eyes open yet I can’t shut them because I can’t stop staring at him. Wow, two pictures of myself in a row here! That was not planned well, hahaha. Oh well, I’ve been neglecting my social media lately due to a lot going on at work and home. Work’s been keeping me busy as usual but this month I have the added stress and complications that come with a major backyard renovation Let’s de-stress a bit by looking back on pictures from one of the most magical places ever - Disneyworld!
