The microbiologist in me just couldn’t bare the thought at first. However, there is a clean and safe way to use handkerchiefs without it being gross and I am totally sold now!! However, I totally miss those eucalyptus scented tissues when I’m all stuffy. And let’s face it, those artificial fragrances lathered ones aren’t great for our health..right?!?!? go read some facts about chemical fragrances ⁠ ⁠ Sooo, this is how I fixed that. I grabbed my “tissue” jar and placed a couple of drops of doterra eucalyptus oil into the jar. Closed the lid, Shake Shake Shake and then start loading in the clean handkerchiefs. I left the jar closed for a couple of days and bam beautifully scented hankies "⁠ ⁠

I often get asked how I keep my skin so healthy. Firstly, I don’t get peels, I rarely get facials, and I don’t use harsh chemicals to even out my skin. The not so secret secret to beautiful skin is SPF. Minimum of SPF 20, every day, rain or shine, put it on and reapply if needed. (I’ll use an SPF of 50+ if I’m in the sun at all). Sun is the number one cause of premature aging in skin causing fine lines, wrinkles and those unfortunate sun spots. Reducing your daily sun exposure gives your skin and immune system a chance to repair and heal itself. It’s never too late! Start before you see signs of aging and delay that sh*t. Pro tip! Rub any extra onto the back of your hands. My shower staples include a foaming body wash, a liquid body wash and a scrub - all made with ingredients that you’d most likely have in your cupboard or are readily available at your local health food shop and a few drops of essential oils ‍♀️⏳ Sugar scrub: 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 cup brown sugar 2 tablespoons melted coconut oil 10 drops of essential oil Combine all ingredients and add to a glass jar. Foaming body wash: 3 tablespoons Castile soap 2 tablespoons FCO 20 drops of essential oils Combine all ingredients and top with cooled boiled water. Add to a foaming pump bottle. Liquid body wash: 1 cup castile soap 1/4 cup vegetable glycerin 1/4 cup FCO 30 drops essential oils Combine all ingredients and add to 500mL pump bottle. I still have a long way to go with my low-tox bathroom, but I am definitely a good way there. Baby steps! #lowtoxswaps #lowtoxbathroom #diybathroom
