Quilt No. 30 ‘Into the Deep’ finally got a #quiltphotoshoot worthy of posting I started this quilt last August on the @tulapink Quilting Cruise to Alaska I pieced mostly using @freespiritfabrics Tula Pink Solids and Focals. I wanted to create an hombre effect like you were diving ‘into the deep.’ My good friend Carmen @pieceful_hands custom quilted this piece using my favourite @hobbsbatting combo, 80/20 and Wool. The quilting just pops! This quilt was completed in January, but a -40 degree Celsius snowy landscape just didn’t do it justice She did however make a trip south in February and was displayed in the Hobbs Batting booth at QuiltCon, which was super cool! I finally finished last week’s #summersampler2019 block by the ever talented Amy @duringquiettime and I love it! Called "Rope Twist", it was a quick and easy, yet so visibly effective! foundation paper pieced block. I could see playing with so many color transitions and variations with this block! I used @alisonglass #agkaleidoscope solids by @andoverfabrics, with @tulapink Fairy Dust in Cotton Candy from her #pinkervillefabric line as the background. ✨ . When pulling out my color coordinating notions, of course I found @aurifilthread and an #olfasplash rotary cutter to match, but I realized my block also perfectly matches one of our garden peonies! 100 Kinship Fushion Sampler blocks all sewn together into one finished flimsy!! I am over the moon thrilled that I was able to finish this today the official start of the #100days100blocks2019 (July 1) hosted by Angie @gnomeangel. I did not have a clear direction going into this sampler but I knew I wanted to use my horded stash of @tulapink (Tula Pink All Stars, Pom Poms, True Colors, Solids and Pinkerville for the sashing) for having no plan I'm quite pleased it all came together. I was constantly checking what colors I needed to focus on to ensure I got the rainbow I was hoping for. The pattern Kinship :100 Block Fusion Sampler created by @gnomeangel and @skyberries.
